HHDNYC solves everyday problems that a disabled person faces.
Helping Hands for The Disabled of NYC is an Action Organization that solves real needs for real people.
We step in to help disabled adults with emergencies without requiring a ton of paperwork.
HHDNYC recruits and trains volunteers and matches them with the appropriate member, based on their need.
Members are also encouraged to be a volunteer.
Helping Hands for The Disabled of NYC is an organization of people committed to helping the disabled to take charge of their own lives.
We encourage you to take action and call The Action Line to register and learn more about how you can be a volunteer.

- Volunteers will learn by participating and talk about what it is like to be blind
- Volunteers pair up in twos to practice leading each other, blindfolded, or how to help persons
who are deaf or confined to a wheelchair - Volunteers develop a deeper understanding of how unfamiliar, new places can feel scary
to disabled people.
